Hi.

Thanks for stopping by! Let's get sweaty and figure out this whole parenting thing together!

Jordyn Ivy: 4 Months

What a fun month! Jordyn has developed a full-blown personality that can just be summed up as “happy.” She is rolling back to front, which is fun except at night when she rolls over and can’t get back on her own. For the most part, she is sleeping through the night. She has rejected the pacifier in favor of her fingers unless she’s sucked her fingers so much that they have blisters (yes, this happened). All of this went down because we unswaddled her, and I don’t remember the transition being as easy as this with Dylan. Jordyn took to it immediately. The first night, she took a little longer to fall asleep but that was because she was talking to her hands. Yes, I did record the monitor.

So much drool

She could be swimming

She is a straight-up drool monster, and her little teeth are starting to bother her so I am hoping a few break through soon. Thankfully, she has figured out how to bring teethers to her mouth.

Jordyn absolutely loves caterpillars. The Very Hungry Caterpillar, which we read every night before bed, gets her to babble like no other, while the caterpillar in Dancing Feet makes her dance. She cuddles her stuffed ones and chews on the one with rings.

We were able to find a “socially distanced” music class, which she adores going to. It is outside, includes singing and movement, and scarves. All things she enjoys. When we go on walks she cannot stop staring at trees — the way they move in the wind and the different shapes — are so much fun to watch.

Her giggle is too much to handle. She likes to be nuzzled and asks for it by opening her mouth wide just like we do when we go in for the nuzzle.

She adores her sister, most of the time. Watching them together brings so much joy.

I did go back to work this month and am figuring out our new routine.
