I can never figure out if I am adding, taking away or breaking even with my life expectancy. A new study from Taiwan's National Health Research Institutes said 15 minutes a day to moderate exercise would add three years to your life. However, another study out of Australia says watching an hour of TV after the age of 25 can shorten the viewer's life by just under 22 minutes.
So by my calculations....my at least 30 minutes a day of exercise for 5 days a week gives me 30 years, my ridiculous weekly TV watching takes off about 132 minutes. According to math helped out by RENT's song I have 15,768,000 minutes minus 7,000 minutes, I have just over 29 years.
Now, math was never my best subject, I failed Chemistry because I couldn't figure out the conversions and Stats was just as bad, but I think I am OK as long as I keep exercising. Although, a previous study in Australia found there was an 8 percent greater risk of dying prematurely associated with watching an hour of TV a day.
So I probably should really give up as many hours of TV as I possibly can, but I just can't shake em. I could just start exercising more while I watch my shows...yeah that may be the ticket. Then the scientists will have NO IDEA what to make of me.
