Hi.

Thanks for stopping by! Let's get sweaty and figure out this whole parenting thing together!

Jordyn Ivy: 2 Months

Jordyn Ivy: 2 Months

Back at it again with some monthly updates. Originally, I wasn’t planning to do these for Jordyn because I thought “will I ever have time?” But then, the other night while I was in bed agonizing over why Jordyn wasn’t “sleeping through the night” when I swore Dylan had by this time…Josh told me to go back to the tapes. I did, and wow had I romanticized or at the very least totally forgotten what the first two months were like. [This was confirmed during Jordyn’s 2-month check-up when her pediatrician told me that I made her day because I only remember Dylan as a 6-month old and completely forgot what it was like to have a newborn.]

So while I was convinced Jordyn was torturing me with her lack of sleep, it turns out the 4-5 hours she was giving us were on par with Dylan. In fact, the few 8-hour nights (and shh don’t tell anyone the 10-hour stretches that are most certainly flukes) could have been directly lifted from the update I wrote nearly 5 years ago. I literally made the same EXACT diaper change.

Now that we have her reflux under control, Jordyn is an incredibly bubbly, happy kiddo. She enjoys taking walks outside and in our house where she loves looking at the different artwork we have around the house. Her favorites happen to be two pictures I took back when I lived in New York City, one of this man dressed in a black and red yarn suit and a Jeff Koons balloon sculpture.

She also loves bath time (much like her sister). We play classical music as part of her bedtime routine and this is when she comes alive. So much babbling.

She has become a champ at tummy time, and her head control is pretty solid. She fully tolerates her sister’s love for her and constant touching.

I swear she is going to be a Daddy’s girl by the way she lights up when Josh enters the room.
