Homemade Puffy Paint
It’s been awhile since we Sunday Science Experimented over here. Dylan’s been content with some of our staples — graffiti spray bottles and simple water painting. The other week though we thought it would be fun to make our own puffy paint.
The process is relatively simple. Although it did take us a few tries to figure out how to best mix it together. We started with one big bowl and then moved to smaller ones to mix the individual colors. I might invest in a few piping bags for the next time we do this because it was slightly hard to squeeze the paint out of the regular ziplock bags.
What you need to make the puffy paint:
- 3+ cups of foam shaving cream
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup glue
- food coloring or paint of your choice
Mix the first three ingredients together in a large bowl. Divide the mixture evenly between a few smaller bowls (depends on how many colors you want). Add the food coloring or paint and mix. Then scoop into the bags, snip the end and paint. I recommend you use a thicker paper.
It definitely didn’t dry so just be prepared for that.
