Sand Play

Despite living 30 minutes West of the beach, Dylan has never set foot there. Some days that makes me feel like a bad parent, other days I think about how hot it is and the fact that she will eat the sand and possibly hate the water. (Unlikely, I know.) 

While I work up the courage to pack our car like we are going on a seven-day vacation, I found a way to bring the sand to her. 

SIDE NOTE: We probably should have played with this outside, but that is what vacuums and tile flooring are for.....

Dylan helped me make the sand and then we played with it, so, all in all, I would say this was about an hour worth of distraction. 

• 1/2 cup flour

• 1/2 cup corn meal

• 1 tbsp oil

• 1 tbsp corn syrup

Mix everything together, and play. 

Simple and effective.
