Hi.

Thanks for stopping by! Let's get sweaty and figure out this whole parenting thing together!

Continuing my yoga kick

I just finished up my first 36 days of the Ultimate Yogi program. To recap, I am back in 2s for skirts, down 4lbs and feeling amazing since I have been sleeping better. I hadn't really thought about it, but because of the commitment to yoga I was getting up at the same time every day and it was easy.  Of course, then we down to Florida again for a wedding and my entire schedule got turned upside because we were stuck  (due to weather) and I didn't bring my DVDs. The two days that I was going to be in Florida called for Yin and Sun Salutations, two routines that I have down pat these days and didn't require shlepping my computer and DVDs. (regret party of one)

While we were at the Boca Resort for the wedding we took advantage of the amazing gym. So I plucked in my new Koss Fit Series (NOTE: This post is sponsored by FitFluential LLC on behalf of Koss) for a  short run/weight. I tried the FitBuds first and although these are made by women, for women and have three different ear cushion sizes I couldn't get them to stay in while I was running. So I quickly switched to the FitClips. I'd never used these before and had always been wary because 'how on earth would they fit my tiny ears?' but I was pleasantly surprised. They fit like a glove, and more important for me in the gym nearly blocked out ALL of the surrounding sound. If you are looking for a gift for your fitness enthused female friend this is a good bet.

FitClips $29.99 ($19.99 at select retailers during the holiday season)

Since these headphones were working so well for me,  I decided it would be easier to do my Yin practice there.

Yin has to be one of my favorite routines. I am honestly really sad that this next set of 36 days doesn't have it as part of the regular practice until the last week.

Anyway, after being stranded in Florida for two days without my power yoga I started to feel like my whole body was aching for activity. I downloaded a simple Core Power Yoga routine from iTunes but it really didn't feel like I did anything.

So lesson learned with winter travel: (1) always pack a little more clothes than you think you might need; (2) bring your yoga stuff; (3) invest the right headphones that will help you cancel all of the stress out.
